Examine the triangles, which are similar. Two similar triangles. The first triangle has a side length of 14 millimeters, which corresponds to the second triangle's side of 21 millimeters. In the case of two similar triangles, all their corresponding sides have a constant ratio. Therefore, if x is the length of the missing side,

(14)/(21)=(x)/(18)

Solving for x

\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow x=(18\cdot14)/(21)=12 \\ \Rightarrow x=12 \end{gathered}

The length of the missing side is 12mm
