So this is a shape that can be subdivide into triangles and squares.

So let us first consider the triangle with dimensions 2 and 6. As it is clear that it forms a right angled triangle, the area is,


(1)/(2)6*2=6

Then there is a square of each side 2. So the area is, 4; since(2*2).

Then there is another triangle of dimneions 2 each . Thus the area is,


(1)/(2)2*2=2

And again there forms a traingle with base 4 and height 10; (2+2+6 from the dotted lines.). Its area is,


(1)/(2)*4*10=20

So the total area is, 6+4+2+20=32.
