we know that

The equation in point slope form is equal to

y-y1=m(x-x1)

step 1

Find the slope

we have the points (-4,1) and (4,-3)

m=(-3-1)/(4+4)

m=-4/8

m=-1/2

step 2

Find the equation

we have

m=-1/2

(x1,y1)=(-4,1)

substitute

y-1=-(1/2)(x+4) ------> equation in ponit slope form

with the point (4,-3)

the equation is

y+3=-(1/2)(x-4)
