The equation of line between two points is given as:

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

plugging the values into the equation we have:

\begin{gathered} y-(-5)=(1-(-5))/(-5-(-1))(x-(-1)) \\ y+5=(1+5)/(-5+1)(x+1) \\ y+5=(6)/(-4)(x+1) \\ y+5=-(6)/(4)(x+1) \end{gathered}

Therefore the equation is:

y+5=-(3)/(2)(x+1)
