The area of a circle is 50.24 square millimeters. What is the circle's radius?

A = 50.24 mm2

Use 3.14 for u.

Remember that

the area is equal to

A=pi*(r^2)

we have

A=50.24 mm2

pi=3.14

substitute given values

50.24=3.14*(r^2)

solve for r

r^2=50.24/3.14

r^2=16

square root

r=4 mm

Part 2

we have

C=31.4 in

Remmeber that the circumference is equal to

C=2pir

we have

C=31.4

pi=3.14

substitute

31.4=2(3.14)r

solve for r

r=31.4/(2*3.14)

r=5 in
