SOLUTION

Given the question in the question tab, the following are the solution steps to get the equation

Step 1: Represent the statement using mathematical notation

Base salary is $2500 (Base salary is constant since it does not change)

P represent his total pay (in dollars)

N represent the number of copies of English is Fun he sells

price made per copy of the product is $80

The equation relating P to N will be written as:

P=2500+80N

Part B: Using this equation in step 1 above to find his total pay if he sells 28 copies of English is Fun

\begin{gathered} P=2500+80N \\ N=28 \\ P=2500+80(28) \\ P=2500+2240 \\ P=\text{\$}4740 \end{gathered}

Hence, his total pay if he sells 28 copies of English is Fun is $4740
