To find the area under a normal distrubution curve use a z-score table, in the table you can identify the area under a z-score.

If you use the table for the z-score -1.82 you get the non-shaded area, but as the total area under the curve is 1 you subtract the value corresponding -1.82 from 1 to get the area of the shaded area

Area under -1.82:

Area of the shaded region:


1-0.0344=0.9656

Then, the area of the shaded region is 0.9656
