Between the three companies, they have to provide the 100% of houses, that is, the fractions must add 1, so the company Z provides electricity to


1-(1)/(8)-(2)/(5)=(40)/(40)-(5)/(40)-(16)/(40)=(19)/(40)

19/40 of the houses. Since there are 160 houses, this means that the company Z provides energy to


160*(19)/(40)=76

Then, the answer is B. 76 houses.
