Using the SOH CAH TOA identity

Given the following

Distance of Rafael from the tower = 55feet = Adjacent

Angle of elevation = 37degrees

Required

Height of the tower = Opposite

Since Tan theta = opp/adj

Tan 37 = x/55

x = 55tan37

x = 55(0.7536)

x = 41.4

Hence the tower is 41.4feet up the viewing platform
