The distributive property says that

a(x+y)=ax+ay

(1). Using the above fact, the expression 5(y -3) becomes

5(5-y)=5(5)-5(y)
\rightarrow\textcolor{#FF7968}{25-5y.}

(2).

-4(-2x+6)=-4(-2)x+6(-4)
\textcolor{#FF7968}{8x-24}

(3).

(1)/(2)(6a+10)=(1)/(2)(6a)+(1)/(2)(10)
\rightarrow\textcolor{#FF7968}{3a+5.}
