Solution:

  • Mass of the object on the surface of the earth = 2 Kg
  • Acceleration due to gravity on earth = 9.8 m/s²
  • We know, weight of a body = mass of the body on earth × acceleration due to gravity on earth
  • Therefore, weight of the object
  • = 2 Kg × 9.8 m/s²
  • = 19.6 N

Answer:

The weight of the 2 Kg object on the surface of the Earth is 19.6 N and this force acting vertically downwards.
