In the question we are given the slope of the line and passing the point that the line passes through as;

\begin{gathered} m=-9;(x_1y_1)=(-8,-9) \\ \end{gathered}

To do this, we would use the formula below;

m=(y-y_1)/(x-x_1)

We can then substitute the given values into the formula above;

\begin{gathered} -9=(y-(-9))/(x-(-8)) \\ -9=(y+9)/(x+8) \\ -9(x+8)=y+9 \\ -9x-72=y+9 \\ y+9x=-81 \end{gathered}

Therefore the equation of the line is

Answer:

y+9x=-81
