Answer:

The rate of change, or the slope is
-(1)/(4) or -0.25

Using the formula
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) we get:

(8-12)/(16-0) = (-4)/(16) = (-1)/(4)

Answer:

-1/4

Explanation:

Rate of change formula (slope)

(y^2-y^1)/(x^2-x^1)

Plug in.

(12-8)/(0-16)

Combine like terms.

(4)/(-16)

(-1)/(4)

Slope means rise over run. Find the change in the y value and the change in the x value to calculate slope.
