The Factors of the numbers are as follows;


\begin{gathered} 18=2*3*3 \\ 12=2*2*3 \\ 42=2*3*7 \end{gathered}

The common factors are 2 and 3.

Therefore, the Greatest Common Factor is (2 x 3) 6
