a)

Given:

m = 6.9 kg

a = 3 m/s^2

Apply:

F = ma

F = 6.9 x 3 = 20.7 N

b)

F = ma

a = F /m

a = 20.7 / 4.1 = 5.05 m/s^2

Answers:

a) 20.7 N

b) 5.05 m/s^2
