Shanice has 4 times as much many pairs of shoes as does her brother Ron, this means

S=4R

where S is the number of shoes Shanice has and R is the number Ron has.

If Shanice gives Ron 12 pairs of shoes, she will have twice as many pairs of shoes as Ron does. This statement translates to

S-12=2(R+12)

Now we have two equations and two unknowns which we need to solve for.

Putting in S = 4R into the above equation gives

4R-12=2(R+12)
\rightarrow4R-12=2R+24
2R=36
R=18.

And therefore, since S = 4R

S=72

And since Shanice gives Ron 12 pairs of shoes, the number she will have left will be

72-12=60

Shanice will have left 60 shoes after she gives Ron 12 pairs.

Hence, choice C is the correct one.
