A pool was being emptied at a rate of 5 gallons per hour. The equationy - 60 = -5(x - 5) models the amount of water remaining, where x is time (inhours) and y is the amount of water left (in gallons). Write the correspondingequation in slope-intercept form

We're given the equation:

y-60=-5(x-5)

In order to get to the slope-intercept form we have to clear y :

\begin{gathered} y-60=-5(x-5) \\ \rightarrow y-60=-5x+25 \\ \rightarrow y=-5x+85 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the equation in the slope-intercept form is:

y=-5x+85
