Ms. Burgoss gave the class the following algebraic expression 2n + n and told them to evaluate the expression when n =12. Taylor wrote 212 +12 and got the final answer 224. Do you agree or disagree with Taylor ? Explain

We want to evaluate the expression "2n + n" for the value n = 12.

This means to simply plug in "12" into "n" of the expression.

Shown below:

\begin{gathered} 2n+n \\ =2(12)+(12) \\ =24+12 \\ =36 \end{gathered}

I disagree with Taylor. He isn't correct.

The final answer is "36", not 224.
