A building is constructed using bricks that can be modeled as right rectangular prisms with a dimension of 7 1/2 in by 2in by 3in. If the bricks cost $0.09 per cubic inch, find the cost of 800 bricks. Round your answer to the nearest cent.

The first step is to find the volume of one brick

V = l*w*h where l is the length, w is the width and h is the height

V = 7.5 * 2 * 3

V = 45 in^3

Now we can find the cost of one brick

Cost = .09 per in^3

45 * .09 = 4.05

We have 800 bricks at this cost

800 * 4.05 =3240

800 bricks will cost $3240
