4x - 5y= 13

X+ 5y = -3

Add both equations:

5x = 10

Solve for x

Divide both sides by 5:

5x/5=10/5

x= 2

Replace

x on any equation:

4x - 5y= 13

4(2)-5y =13

Solve for y:

8-5y= 13

-5y= 13-8

-5y= 5

-5y/-5= 5/-5

y= -1

Solution

x=2

y=-1
