To factorize the Trinomial, we seek two numbers such that the product is -14 and the addition is 5

We have

Pair Product sum

(-2, 7) -14 5

Hence we have


\begin{gathered} x^2+5x-14=x^2-2x+7x-14 \\ \Rightarrow x(x-2)+7(x-2) \\ \Rightarrow(x-2)(x+7) \end{gathered}

Hence the correct option is C
