The first thing we have to know is that 1 kilogram is equal to 1000 grams

$\begin{gathered} 1\operatorname{kg}\to1000gr \\ \frac{1000gr}{1\operatorname{kg}} \end{gathered}$

if we have 5.4 kilograms

$\begin{gathered} 4.5\operatorname{kg}\cdot\frac{1000gr}{1\operatorname{kg}}=(4.5)(1000gr) \\ \end{gathered}$
4.5kg=4500gr
