The function in number 8 is defined for all real values except at x = 0. Hence, the domain of the function is given by the interval

(- ∞, 0) ∪ ( 0, ∞)

Also, the range of the function is given by the interval

( 0, ∞)

From the image of question 8, we can see that the function increases on the interval from x = - ∞ to x = 0.

That is the function is increasing on the interval

(- ∞, 0)

Also, the function is decreasing on the interval from x =0 to x=∞

Hence the function is decreasing on the interval

( 0, ∞)
