you saved $100 to take your grandparents out for their anniversary dinner. All three of you enjoyed your meal and the service was excellent. The total bill, pre-tax, was $45. The tax rate was 6.5% and you left a 20% tip(on the pre-tax amount). After you paid the total bill, how much change did you receive? round to the hundredths place.

The amount before tax is given to be $45.

The tax rate is 6.5%. This amount can be calculated to be:

\Rightarrow(6.5)/(100)*45=2.925

The tip was 20%. This amount can be calculated to be:

\Rightarrow(20)/(100)*45=9

Therefore, the total amount spent will be:

\Rightarrow45+2.925+9=56.925

Hence, the change left from $100 will be:

\Rightarrow100-56.925=43.075

Therefore, the change will be $43.08.
