We have an absolute value equation

|5x+12|=4

In order to solve it we will have two cases

First case

5x+12=-4

we solve for x

5x=-4-12
5x=-16
x=-(16)/(5)

For the second case

5x+12=4

we solve for x

5x=4-12
5x=-8
x=-(8)/(5)

ANSWER

x=-16/5

x=-8/5
