the slope of the line that passes through the points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is computed as follows:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

In this case, the line passes through (3,1) and (9,8), then its slope is:

m=(8-1)/(9-3)=(7)/(6)
