There are two dice (black and red)

The outcomes for each dice is:

1, 1 1, 2 1,3 1,4 1,5 1,6

2,1 2,2 2,3 2,4 2,5 2,6

3,1 3,2 3,3 3,4 3,5 3,6

4,1 4,2 4,3 4,4 4,5 4,6

5,1 5,2 5,3 5,4 5,5 5,6

6,1 6,2 6,3 6,4 6,5 6,6

so, let's count those whose sum will give atleast 8, I will bold it.

The number of those whose sum is atleast 8 is 15

This implies that for the black dice, the required outcome is 1 5

For the red dice the required outcome is 15

So the total required outcome is 30

All possible oucome for black is 36

All possible outcome for red is 36

Total all possible outcome is 36+36=72

The probability = required outcome /all possible outcome

= 30 /72

= 15 /36

=5/12

=0.4167
