m = mass = 500 kg

Kinetic energy (KE) = 4000 J

Apply the Kinetic energy formula:

• KE = 1/2 m v^2

v= velocity

Replacing:

4000 = 1/2 (500) v^2

Solve for v

4000 = 250v^2

4000/250 = v^2

16 = v^2

√16 = v

v = 4 m/s
