In order to determine the scale factor of the dilation, just divide the coordinates of the point A' between the coordinates of the point A, just as follow:

A(6,12)

A'(2,4)

2/6 = 1/3

4/12 = 1/3

As you can notice, the quotient is the same, then, the scale factor is k = 1/3
