Dilating the point A(x, y) with the scale factor k, we get the point A'(kx, ky).

In this case,

T(2, 4) โ†’ (k2, k4) โ†’ T'(3,6)

This means that:

\begin{gathered} k\cdot2=3 \\ k=(3)/(2) \end{gathered}

or

\begin{gathered} k\cdot4=6 \\ k=(6)/(4)=(3)/(2) \end{gathered}

The scale factor is 3/2
