3(x+4)=2(x-6)

step 1

multiply the coeffiecients with the brackets and the proceed to simplfy


\begin{gathered} 3(x+4)=2(x-6) \\ 3x+12=2x-12 \end{gathered}

step 2

collect like terms


\begin{gathered} 3x-2x=-12-12 \\ x=-24 \end{gathered}

the value of x = -24
