In order to find the values of x and y, let's compare both values of x given:

\begin{gathered} x=2y-4 \\ x=6y+16 \\ \\ 2y-4=6y+16 \\ 6y-2y=-4-16 \\ 4y=-20 \\ y=-(20)/(4) \\ y=-5 \\ \\ x=2y-4 \\ x=2\cdot(-5)-4 \\ x=-10-4 \\ x=-14 \end{gathered}

So we have that x = -14 and y = -5.
