A pool can hold 598 gallons of water and is being filled at the rate shown. How many more minutes, m, can water continue to flow into the pool before it overflows? Write and solve an inequality.Filling rate of 15.75 gallons per minute.

The inequality can be written as


598\ge15.75m

So, the water can continue to overflow till m minutes.


\begin{gathered} 598\ge15.75m \\ \text{Divide both sides by 15.75} \\ 37.96\ge m \\ 38\ge m \end{gathered}

We approximated the 37.96 minutes to 38 minutes.

So, near to 38 minutes the water can flow.
