\begin{gathered} \text{the slope is given by:} \\ \text{slope}=m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) \\ \text{where:} \\ (e,f)=(x1,y1) \\ (g,h)=(x2,y2) \end{gathered}

Since the slope has to be 7:

\begin{gathered} \text{Let:} \\ (e,f)=(x1,y1)=(1,-2) \\ (g,h)=(x2,y2)=(3,12) \\ m=(12-(-2))/(3-1)=(14)/(2)=7 \end{gathered}
