We need to remember that by definition a rational number is a number that can be expressed as the quotient of two integers p/q

Part A

For this case we can write:


(96)/(10)

And this number is between 9.5 and 9.7 and is also rational by definition

Part B

And irrational number by definition is a number that cannot be expessed as the ratio of two integers.

And one soluton for this case would be:


(29)/(3)

And we see that 29/3= 9.66666 so satisfy the condition and is also an irrational number
