(9x - 4y =-3)

( – 7x +5y =-9)

We have to multiply the first equation by 5 and the second by 4

45x-20y= -15

-28x+20y= -36

Add both

17x = -51

Solve for x:

x=-51/17

x= -3

Replace x on the first equation

9x-4y=-3

9(-3)-4y=-3

-27-4y=-3

-4y=-3+27

-4y=24

y= 24/-4

y= -6
