Graph the line : y=2x+3.

To graph this line, we can simply pick 2 points and draw a smooth line through it.

Since x is the independent variable, we pick a value of x and find its corresponding y value.

This can be done infinite number of times.

But we only need two points to graph a line.

Let's take x = 0

So, we have:

y = 2x + 3

y = 2(0) + 3

y = 0 + 3

y = 3

Now, let's take x = 2,

So, we have:

y = 2x + 3

y = 2(2) + 3

y = 4 + 3

y = 7

So, the ordered pairs would be:

(0, 3)

AND

(2, 7)

We graph it and draw a smooth curve. Shown below:
