In the given figure, there are two squares and one rectangle.

The side of one square is , 2 cm

Therefore, the area of square is,

A_1=2^2
A_1=4cm^2

The side of other square is, 5 cm.

Therefore, the area of square is,

A_2=5^2

The area of square is ,

A_2=25cm^2

Similarly, the area of rectangle is,

A_3=5*2
A_3=10cm^2

Therefore, the area of figure is,

A=A_1+A_2+A_3
A=\text{ 4}+25+10
A=39cm^2
