Given the polynomials:


\begin{gathered} x^2-x+1 \\ 2x^2+x-9^{} \end{gathered}

If we add them, we have to add each similar term to get the following:


\begin{gathered} (x^2-x+1)+(2x^2+x-9)= \\ x^2+2x^2-x+x+1-9=3x^2-8 \end{gathered}

therefore, the sum of the given polynomials is 3x^2-8
