The cerebral cortex is the largest part of the brain, being responsible for information-processing and the ultimate control. So functions such as perception, sensation and voluntary physical action depends on the cerebral cortex. The human nerve is also a part of the nervous system, being composed of a bundle of fibers that are responsible for sending and receiving information between the brain and the body. Human nerves can be found in many different parts of the body. So, as the human nerve is responsible for sending and receiving information, and as the cerebral cortez is responsible for processing information, they interact with each other everytime that a new information must be processed by the brain. One example is when we feel pain. If we touch a hot pan, for example, our human nerves from our skin will be in touch with the heat (which will burn our fingers). But, for us to feel the pain, this information must be sent to our brain, where will be processed by our cerebral cortex. The cerebral cortex will process it and send a response: take your finger out of the pan! So, that's a good example on how they interact.
