Ultraviolet light can induce the formation of pyrimidine dimers of adjacent nucleotides, which affects the nucleotide bases cytosine and thymine. This can disrupt transcription as well as replication but is usualy corrected by photolyases or nucleotide excison reparir.

This means D, the formation of thymine dimers that disrupt DNA replication, would be the right answer.
