Solution:

Let x be the number of 4-player games and y be the number of 2-player games played, such that;

\begin{gathered} x+y=10........equation1 \\ \\ 4x+2y=32.........equation2 \end{gathered}

From equation1;

x=10-y.................equation3

Substitute equation3 in equation2;

\begin{gathered} 4(10-y)+2y=32 \\ \\ 40-4y+2y=32 \\ \\ 40-32=4y-2y \\ \\ 2y=8 \\ \\ y=4 \\ \end{gathered}

Substitute the value of y in equation 3;

\begin{gathered} x=10-4 \\ \\ x=6 \\ \end{gathered}

ANSWER: Six 4-player games and four 2-player games were played.
