The hypothenuse of a right triangle is calculated as:

hypothenuse=√(a^2+b^2)

Where a and b are the other two sides of the right triangle.

In this case, a=5 and b=12, then the hypotenuse is:

\begin{gathered} hypothenuse=√(5^2+12^2) \\ hypothenuse=√(25+144) \\ hypothenuse=√(169) \\ hypothenuse=13 \end{gathered}

Then, the answer is that the hypothenuse has a lenght of 13.
