Given:

12 poodles in a circus gave each other high fives.

To find the number of high fives was given in total:

Let N be the total number of persons.

Since all can't give high fives with themselves,

So, they can give high fives with N-1 persons.

So, the total number of high fives is N(N-1).

But, that counts every high five twice, so we have to divide by 2.

Therefore, the tola number of high fives is,

(N(N-1))/(2)

Here, the total number of poodles is 12.

So, the total number of high fives is

\begin{gathered} (12(12-1))/(2)=(12(11))/(2) \\ =66 \end{gathered}

Thus, the total number of high fives is 66.
