(a) Sam's air drill are 7 inch rows according to the question.

According to the standard conversion rate,

1 inch = 2.54 centimetres

Therefore, 7 inches would become

7 inches = 2.54 x 7

7 inches = 17.78 centimetres

The width of his rows is 17.78 centimetres

(b) Sam planted 450 acres of soybeans. He planted at the rate of 17 acres per hour. Hence, the time spent planting is derived as;

\begin{gathered} 17\text{acres}=1\text{hour} \\ 450\text{acres}=(450)/(17)\text{hours} \\ 450\text{acres}=26(8)/(17)hours \end{gathered}

(c) His speed is given as

17 acres per hour, that is he covered 17 acres for every hour, or 34 acres for two hours and so on

(d) If Sam used up 0.91 gallons of fuel per acre, then the total diesel consumed is derived as,

\begin{gathered} 1\text{acre}=0.91\text{gallons} \\ 450\text{acres}=(0.91*450)\text{gallons} \\ 450\text{acres}=409.5\text{gallons} \\ \text{If diesel fule sells for 3.28 per gallon, then} \\ \text{Cost of fuel=409.5 x 3.28} \\ \text{Cost}=1343.16 \end{gathered}

The cost of fuel is $1,343.16
