you have to convert 2 into
`(10)/(5)` so it would be
`(12)/(5)`

you also have to convert 1 into
`(10)/(10)` so it would be
`(13)/(10)`

since the denominators and different were ganna have to make them the same by mutiplying

you can easily do 5x2 to get 10

since you multiplied by 2 on the bottom do it on the top and you will get
`(24)/(10)`

now subtract them
`(24)/(10)`-
`(13)/(10)`=
`(11)/(10)`

24-13=11 but you need to simplify it and make it
`1(1)/(10)`

You make the mixed number an improper fraction, then, if not already, make the two improper fractions have common denominators, then you subtract thresh two numerators to get your answer
