9x-5=(1)/(4)(16x+60)

To solve the equation you should separate x on one side and the number on the other side, then make the coefficient of x = 1

Let us do that

Multiply the bracket by 1/4 first

(1)/(4)(16x+60)=(1)/(4)(16x)+(1)/(4)(60)=4x+15

So the equation will be

9x - 5 = 4x + 15

Add 5 to both sides to move 5 from the left hand to the right hand

9x - 5 + 5 = 4x + 15 + 5

9x = 4x + 20

Now subtract 4x from both sides to move x
