• Substituting,

`m = - 3 \\ x = 5 \: \: \: into \\ y = 3`

So,

`y = mx + b`

`= > 3 = - 3 * 5 + b`

`= > 3 = - 15 + b`

`= > 3 + 15 = b`

`= > 18 = b`

• Substitute,

`m = - 3 \\ b = 18`

Use,

`y = mx + b`

`= > y = - 3x + 18`

• Now rewrite y= -3x+18 in slope intercept form,
