For what values of x and y must ABCD be a parallelogram?

The opposite side of the paralogram will be equal in size.

From the figure,


\begin{gathered} AB=DC \\ 3x-5=2x+2 \\ 3x-2x=2+5 \\ x=7 \end{gathered}

Thus, the value of x is 7.

From the figure,


\begin{gathered} AD=BC \\ y+3=2y-6 \\ 3+6=2y-y \\ 9=y \\ y=9 \end{gathered}

Thus, the value of y is 9, and the correct option is option d) x=7 & y=9.
