Under the assumption that u and v are parallel, we have that both expressions: 12x-4, and 10x+10 are equal; because they are corresponding angles. So we have the equation


12x-4=10x+10

Let's solve it:

First step) Everything "with x" on the left-hand side, and everything else on the right-hand side.


12x-10x=10+4

Second step) Solving the sums.


2x=14

Third step) dividing by 2.


x=(14)/(2)=7
